"Connection"

Coming into the world is our first act of separation. From that moment on, we learn to breathe on our own, choose a direction, and become different from what we came from. But separation does not mean that every bond is broken.Before we have memories of our own, we are welcomed into a story. We carry its words, gestures, and habits with us; even what remains unspoken can shape the way we feel. As we grow, we learn to recognise this inheritance. We do not have to preserve it unchanged: we can embrace part of it, transform another part,and distance ourselves from what does not belong to us.Sometimes it is through distance that we understand how deep a connection can run. It surfaces in an unexpected resemblance, a spontaneous gesture, an emotion whose origins we only gradually come to know. Even when lives follow distant paths, they remain connected on an ancestral level. This bond does not ask us to go back, nor does it prevent us from changing. It accompanies us as we form new bonds of belonging. We can move away, freely choose who we become, and still feel that our story began before we did.
